The word ‘Mindfulness’ gets used a lot these days. This word is often misunderstood and used out of context.
Mindfulness simply means focusing on something using your full mind. This often takes practice because like many things, practice helps to gain mastery. When starting any mindfulness practice, our minds often tend to distract us. Practicing mindfulness is a wonderful way to learn to stay in the present and fully appreciate what is going on around us. We can eat mindfully, smell mindfully, wash dishes mindfully, anything. We can focus on the sensations around us.
Focus on positive thoughts about yourself. Start to write a list of things you like about yourself. Focus on those things and see if you can keep adding to the list. Focus on your physical and emotional state when you focus on yourself, your strengths, and the things you like about yourself.
